Design and Development of Digital Healthcare Platform for Public Healthcare Company

The Challenge

The company encountered several challenges as they sought to modernize and enhance their platform:

  • Legacy Code Modernization: The existing application code needed an upgrade to modern web development standards to support new functionalities and scalability.
  • Patient Accessibility: The platform needed to enable residents to access healthcare services seamlessly and effectively when required.

The Objective

The primary goal was to develop a modernized, three-sided digital healthcare platform that could streamline patient-provider interactions while enhancing engagement and access to healthcare resources. Specific objectives included:

  • Creating a Unified Platform for Patients, Providers, and Public Health Programs: Implement a comprehensive solution that integrates patient check-ins, assessments, and communications.
  • Ensuring Security and Data Compliance: Develop a secure platform with robust security features, given the sensitive nature of healthcare data.
  • Improving User Experience and Accessibility: Design an intuitive user interface that ensures a seamless and engaging experience for both patients and providers.

The Solution

Digital Agents Interactive Private Limited (DAIPL) provided a complete solution that covered front-end development, backend infrastructure, security, and testing. Our approach included:

  • Development of a Web Platform for Patients and Providers: Utilizing advanced front-end technologies like Node.js, Angular, and TypeScript, combined with Java 8 and frameworks like Spring Boot and Hibernate on the server-side, we built a scalable platform. Keycloak was implemented to secure applications and services, while PostgreSQL was used for data storage.
  • Real-Time Features and Integration: The platform introduced a QR code check-in system, pre-assessment capabilities, and video conferencing for easy and efficient patient check-ins. Additionally, Google Maps API, NGX Scanner, AG Grid, RxJS, and Adobe XD were leveraged to enhance user interface quality and user experience.
  • Comprehensive Testing: With Cypress for testing, we performed smoke and regression testing, along with unit testing via JUnit, ensuring a reliable and high-quality product. Graylog was utilized for security analytics, SIEM solutions, and anomaly detection, further reinforcing security.
  • Payment Integration with Stripe: Online payment options were integrated into the platform through Stripe, enabling secure and efficient payment transactions for healthcare services.

  • Enhanced User Experience and Reduced Development Time: The UI/UX prototype model streamlined development, testing, and deployment, reducing the product release timeline from one week to just two days.
  • Increased Efficiency in Healthcare Delivery: By enabling QR code check-ins and pre-assessments, the platform reduced vaccination encounters from 30 minutes to just 3 minutes, vastly improving patient flow and reducing wait times.
